Chaos Thermal Regulation (CTR) Face Mask, Bandana, Skully Ski Snowboard Facemask Headwear Review
Chaos and their CTR have been making some new head way in terms of face mask and head wear. They are using some very technical materials and offering a ton of shapes and sizes sure to fit any size noggin’. The Pro Stretch material is really fantastic, it completely form fitting and stretches in all directions allowing you to move, breath, and chew all with your face mask following you around. It also provides a fair amount of moisture wicking, although I found it was a little hard to keep up with the condensation of heavy breathing. It’s a million times better than your gas station dew rag you may have tied around your face. The Dri-release wool is also a very innovative product. It quickly extracts perspiration and dries 4 times faster than cotton. It doesn’t stink (thanks to something called FreshGuard) when it gets wet or spent the night in your backpack. The main idea is that wet clothing robs the body of energy. Keep yourself dry and ride all day in comfort.
Mistral Multi-Tasker Pro Face max with Pro Stretch
The Mistral Multi-tasker has a nice articulated head piece that keeps the top head piece and bottom face cover well shielded. It works much better than a balaclava because of the separate movement each piece can have. But they are connected in the back to keep the face mask from falling off. Additionally, we like the formed chin piece that allows for gum chewing, and talking with ease. It wears well under a helmet or by itself. There is a mesh breathable panel for your hot air to be release. The entire facemask feels like it was molded from an exact replica of someone’s head, you put it on and it just pops into place.
Adrenaline2 Combo Skully with Dri-release Wool
This is a great idea for skiers and snowboarders that wear helmets. It keeps the helmet in place better and provides a good foundation for keeping your noggin warm on those cold days when a helmet just isn’t enough. It’s also got flat sticking and a flat slim profile making it perfect for layering. CTR also contoured the ear flaps to provide additional protection down the back of the head.
Mistral Bandana with Pro Stretch
The Mistral Bandana is perfect for those Shaun White look a likes. I think this is a step up from Shaun Whites t-shirt sleeve he wears around his face. The Bandana neck and face protector offers protection from the cold air and allows you to breathe through the mesh pannel . It provides adjustable Velcro in the back to keep it on your face. It also has an articulated chin, and very soft lycra material that is loved by all faces. Chaos Thermal Regulation (CTR) Offers a wide variety of face mask and hats.
