Columbia Omni-Heat Elite Men’s Women’s Review Compare
Columbia Titanium Heat Elite Jacket with Omni Heat Review and Comparison
We must admit, when we first saw the OMNI-Heat offered by Columbia, we were a little bit skeptical. Come on, little silver dots, backed on a breathable mesh liner…? I’ve seen coats and jackets try to do this space suit thing in the past, and it wasn’t too fun wearing your tin foil coat on your winter rendezvous. Well, after trying this jacket on in near fridged temperatures, I was instantly hooked. Within just a few minutes of putting the jacket on, you feel your heat begin to warm up the jacket.
Columbia states that it’s up to 20% warmer jacket than others without the omni-heat. We would have to agree with that statement.
The men’s Heat Elite Jacket comes with a nice moisture wicking top half for shedding light rain and snow, while the bottom half is a very soft and comfortable fleece. Another very nice feature is the chest pocket. When using this jacket as a layer, the Titanium collection Columbia jacket is the perfect choice for easy access pockets, perfect form fit, and a technical choice above the rest. Also, standard are waist draw string, pit zips, for under arm venting. It’s very light weight and warm making the perfect under layer for a ski or snowboard shell type jacket.
The women’s Heat Elite Jacket also provides the same technical performance as the men’s, with a little different overall look, but same great omni-heat. The jacket feels like it was formed to fit just perfect under another layer. It also has the bonded seams, with a draw cord adjuster. Another nice feature to point out when layering with the Women’s Heat Elite Jacket is the thumb holes in the cuff. It helps keep the sleeves with you when layering with another jacket or coat.
