Nike Zoom Kaiju Snowboard Boot Review
Nike Snowboard Boot Zoom Kaiju Review
The Nike Zoom Kaiju has been a staple in the line up of Nike Snowboard boots, and for good reason. Nike Snowboard has placed their own sprinkles of features on a super standard snowboard boot. With heat moldable liners, quick lace adjustments both inside and outside.
Nike Zoom Kaiju has a full length phylon mid-sold with the innovative Zoom Air insert in the heel, to help alleviate those bruised heel. The liners are heat moldable for the complete custom fit. With heat molding, it gives you the option of breaking in your boots in a matter of hours rather than a matter of days. Nike embraces Outlast temperature controlled liners as well as insulated footbeds. The Kaiju liners are super cumfortable and don’t show signs of packing out too quickly. The Zoom has TPU external foxing, which is a processed plastic urethane that provides stability and flexability, some other aspects of TPU is that it is very weather resistant, Fungus resistant, and most importantly Fire resistant. The ankle harness for the internal liner and support is very smooth with no pinch points. With the internal lacing eyestay and flex notch, getting in and out of the boots are a cinch. The boots have a roomie feel to them, with a slightly stiffer flex to them. The magic is in the TPU support, and the super tough outer material on the toes. The sole of the boot is pack with little sticky fingers that provide a lot of tread control when locking the boot into any binding, or just walking around the living room floor.
The Nike Zoom Kaiju is at the higher end of boots coming in at around $350 MSRP, but an excellent candidate given Nike’s footwear track record.
