Should I buy a Rocker or Camber Shaped Snowboard
Rocker vs. Camber
So the argument between Rocker Snowboards and Camber Snowboards. But what exactly is Rocker and Camber?
Camber Snowboards are great for all around all mountain snowboarding. Snowboards and Ski’s have been made this way for years. Camber boards seem to have more pop, to provide higher ollies. Camber boards also ride very well in rough powder or choppy conditions. They hold their edge very well in icy and other types of snow conditions. It offers a very stable board that follows the edge on every turn.
Rocker (Reverse Camber)
Rocker snowboards seem to have taken over the industry by storm. The new shape offers a more loose feel that allows the nose and tail to float around more without catching the snow. This make buttery tricks very easy. An added benefit to a rocker snowboard is that they float very well in powder. A downside to rocker shaped boards is that they seem to bounce around a lot in the choppy snow, and at high speeds.
